At the moment it’s wedding season but before all wedding there must be a Hen Night! Here are our top tips when planning your perfect hen do; all of the “do’s and don’t’s” of making this night one of the bride’s favourite memories.
First of all, Invitations
This can cause a lot of trouble so be sure to have the maid of honour ready to organise this list. If you’re worrying about having an idea that really doesn’t suit certain people but you still want them to come along, then split the celebrations into different parts. Each of the parties will be perfect and you won’t have to stress about one or two people not joining in or any party-poopers.
Don’t forget to save the date
Now, it’s always best to have your hen celebrations at least a week before the big day itself. We don’t recommend holding the festivity the night before, make sure you plan in advance to maximise the number of people attending and so that all of the bride-to-be’s best friends are there.
Location, Location, Location
Make sure to research about where you’re holding the hen night, because you may end up having it at a local pub or at your house (and let’s face it, that’s not the most appealing environment). A hen night can be a prime occasion to spend some quality time with your nearest and dearest, choosing the perfect location is key.
This may lead to a mass of arguments, but try to involve the other guests. Don’t be so vague as to ask ‘what are we doing?’ because this will result in a mob of conflicting ideas, but let them know your plans and see if they can add anything to it. Remember, there will always be someone who doesn’t agree, then again you can never please everyone, so go with what you feel the bride will want above all.
That said, don’t go overboard
It can often appear that there may not be enough things to fill the day but once you are all there together gossiping and having a laugh, time soon flies. Have relaxed organisations that don’t have a deadline because, if the group are happy, there’s no need to rush off to the next activity just for the sake of getting it all done in time.
Relax, enjoy the day and have fun!
