Christmas is a very busy time of the year for us at VIP Balloons and so we didn’t get chance to keep you updated with everything that happened, so we thought we’d look back at some of the many highlights in a series of blogs.
Our first major Christmas job was being part of a crew who helped turn a sports hall in the Welsh Rhonda Valley into a Winter Wonderland. We were approached by Stuart Davies of Beyond Balloons to see if we could assist him in creating a spectacular queuing system for the families of his home town, Tonyrefail (pronounced Ton-rev-al).
The idea was to create a fully immersive winter wonderland scene for the children to enjoy as they waited to see the big man in the grotto at the end.
We worked as part of a crew of twelve for two whole days, inflating and arranging thousands of balloons to build a candy-cane tunnel, snow covered trees, a frozen lake, a giant’s castle and twinkling clouds.
The crew was made up from balloon artists from all over the UK who, using their talents, turned balloons, fabric, card and vinyl into a truly magic place for the children to enjoy.
We love to collaborate with other professionals and this experience was one of the highlights of our year. New skills were learnt and great friends found.
We hope you enjoyed looking at what we created in Wales. If this has inspired you to want something magical made for your event, please contact us and we would be happy to turn your dreams into a reality.
More photos and videos from our bid build can be found on our Facebook page.
In our next blog we will take a look back at how, once again, we decorated a prestigious London hotel ready for the children at Great Ormond Street Hospital ready to have their Christmas parties.
