At the beginning of May, Trinity Park, home of the Suffolk Show, hosted the biggest and best business show in East Anglia and VIP Balloons were there – not just exhibiting for ourselves, but also assisting several other local companies with their stands and providing the official show décor.
The event started with a Hustings debate by five candidates of the main political parties. To highlight the candidates, we were asked to hand-paint foil balloons with the parties’ logos and place them by their chairs.
We were also asked to decorate the stage, including forming a backdrop of balloons, columns and an arch. The event is sponsored by ISSBA (The Ipswich and Suffolk Small Business Association, of which VIP Balloons are members) so we chose their colour scheme of light blue and green for the stage décor.
The debate was hosted by Terry Hunt, editor of the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star. As a gift from the organisers, we created a balloon sculpture of him to take away.
Terry asked all of the candidates several questions that had been submitted by members before the event before opening questions to the business people who were in the audience.
The event proved to be a success and was very well attended.
On Friday we will take a look at the grand opening of the exhibition itself.
